"Inspired by the infinite diversity around us, my goal as an artist is: Simplify, simplify, simplify."
Warren Kaplan, born in Chicago, for many years, pursued artistic opportunities as a singer of opera and as a voiceover actor- all the while evolving in visual arts expression. After much experimentation with oils, watercolors, pencil, pen and markers, he now works primarily in the acrylic medium.
An avid fan of Franz Kline and Robert Motherwell, Warren is deeply moved by the drama and raw contrast of their use of black and white elements. His own style in the abstract expressionist realm might be described as abstract minimalism. Ultimately, Warren strives to tell a story using fewer 'words' and an economy of color. Less is more.
