There’s a reason the Masters painted fleurs - they are extraordinarily complex. Flowers may appear delicate but can withstand the most treacherous storms. Arranged in vases or as bouquets, flowers dance with one another to form new art forms -- sometimes as large, powerful, imposing arrangement, and other times as independent stems.
I find myself drawn to different arrangements and colors depending on how I feel that day. It’s incredible to see exactly how I’m feeling -- happy, excited, nervous, confident -- expressed in flowers. And when that happens, I can’t help but harness the creative energy and start painting.
