In the Floating series, I explore both the creation and destruction of the figurative form. These paintings walk the line between disintegration and definition of the human form. The paint is applied in broad strokes, drips, splashes, and contrastingly very specific drawn marks, creating an alchemical mixture of chaos and control. The figures are liminal: they both dissolve into the water and rise from the disorder. My painting process is a dialogue between the ephemeral and the concrete, where the unconscious and the conscious intertwine.
