These paintings are process driven, meaning the image you see was not planned.  Instead, paint is applied in stages to create movement, texture and rhythm.  Each stage informs the next as much as they are a reaction to the previous.  Often, in the final stage, a circle is created.  The circle isolates an area of activity while the space around the circle becomes a place for the eye to rest.  While no meaning is intentionally communicated, circles are symbolic of many things and may suggest deeper meaning within the viewer.
