Direct Print on Acrylic Glass (Edition of 10)

This project explores the idea of stillness within the constant transfer of binary data. It involves experimentation with digital graphics created by layers. These were inspired by my experience in retouching and architectural photography. When parts of the original photograph or "base layer" are subtracted, what are left are the geometric outlines of the building. These layers become mysterious and elegant abstract landscapes to me, and led me to photograph places with personal meaning to me, which I could then reduce into abstruse layers that straddle the line between objective and non-objective imagery. It consists of transforming a chaos of alterations into one self-contained piece.
