Split Asanoha is based on the traditional six-sided Japanese pattern “Asanoha”, representing hemp leaves and signifying vitality. The tumbling block pattern I applied on this piece shares some of the features of Asanoha. The facets of the shapes really sparkle in this painting.


The sides of this piece are wood that's been sanded and finished, so the piece can be hung without a frame.
