Jazz in the Studio Series
Acrylic on canvas
40" x 30" x 1.5" unframed
This painting, and the series of the time, was based on music, the rhythm of jazz and world music. At the time, the complex where my studio is was nicknamed "Gaga" and "Raja" is an Indian musical form - thus the title. I was exploring red and using color rhythms to accent the rhythm of the shapes.
It is a lively painting where I attempted to paint spontaneously and did not attempt to add many layers.
