Figurative work is my favorite subject. Every form and face is different and I strive to capture that difference in my paints and brushes. This model's pose was striking in its subtlety. I wanted to enable the viewer to feel the turning of her torso and the expressiveness of her hands. There felt like so much movement even though the pose itself was somewhat contained. I think it is this juxtaposition that attracts me most about art.
