MEMORIES OF FLORIDA AS A CHILD SERIES
Acrylic on Canvas
10" x 10" unframed
This painting is from an 8-part series entitled "Memories of Florida as a Child." The series features colors I vividly recall seeing while visiting my grandmother in Florida as a child each winter, in addition to other colors I perceive as complementary to these and simply enjoyed experimenting with, such as gold. Each painting is a color study but also a general homage to nature; the shapes and lines depicted serve as an abstract representation of the shapes and lines of plants, flowers, ocean water, and sunsets I encountered and admired as a child while visiting there, and continue to admire today.
