Oil on Wood Panel
9" x 12" unframed
I begin by isolating the shape of the wood grain element which is part of the original wood panel supporting the painting. By studying that shape, and merging it with thoughts I have about environmental shifts in the landscape, my imagery begins to form, layer by layer. My intention is to present a surreal landscape that evokes questions about its own beauty and endurance within the layered fragility of the fleeting life forms it sustains.
