FLORENCIO'S FIRST HAND AT WRITING MUSIC AFTER TERESA FLORES AND BEETHOVEN
Soft-pastels and acrylic gouache on muslin
20" x 14" x 1" unframed
Concurrently with my painting practice, I channel florencio–a conceptual personae. I facilitate florencio’s practice by making collaborative bridges between different people and florencio. These collaborations also aim to conjure a language (process) that is not here yet. florencio’s approach to language through play hopes to invert inherent power structures within language and language itself. For this painting, florencio asked me to ask my mom to teach me how to draw flowers again, then used it to write the score for piano.
