My work is a collision of disparate fragments, culled from myriad sources, and woven together to create a dense network of narrative possibilities. By deconstructing and recontextualizing images and words from our consumer driven celebrity culture, I seek to subvert the dominant paradigm and explore new ideals of beauty, truth, and order.


"Lady With An Attitude" is the third in a series of portraits based on hairstyle illustrations from an Italian dictionary I bought while studying in Italy. This hairstyle is called "cotonatura" which means backcombing.
