Seeing the image of this sign always makes me happy because it would mean we’re two-thirds of the way to Palm Springs from Los Angeles! This little motel off the 10 freeway has a big name to live up to… (I’m thinking of the Las Vegas Stardust). Well, when I captured this image many years ago, I thought it was just wonderful! I was lucky enough that all its neon was intact back then. I’m sad to report that in recent years all the neon has been replaced with a cheap, plastic LED sign. Tragic! But it lives on in my work.
