In my figurative work I am driven to render the form realistically but also find ways paint expressively. My work often involves breaking the edges of the figure and leaving certain areas less developed. This guides the viewer's eye, as well as creates motion. For me combining my traditional training with a painterly approach creates visual accuracy, as well as an raw emotion.
