I aim to make works of art which act as a balm against the anxiety inducing aspects of our reality. My imagery is created through an intuitive process of experimentation and play, and I reach my stopping point when the work finds a balanced compositional state which has a therapeutic effect on my state of being. If I get the impulse to draw something specific I try not to overthink the why of it. Other times I may start drawing without any idea what is going to emerge on my drawing surface. Because I thoroughly enjoy the adventure of the process and the mysterious, open-ended nature of the final work, I seek the balance between conscious manipulation, and getting out of my own way and letting things happen.
