My series Dissolution: Where Do We Go from Here is both an extension and continuation of my Emanations work. Emanations speaks to things coming into being while Dissolutions sees them coming undone. These paintings were made in an exploratory process—I did not know what these pieces would be until their completion. I was surprised to discover that a progression, or rather a regression, of the image had developed across the pieces in this series. The beginning pieces have a more discernible image, but moving from piece to piece the image breaks down, patterns form and fall apart, and the colors get vibrant before dissolving into a hazy atmosphere. They have been grouped as triptychs to communicate that progression.
