BELIEVER, ADMIRER, ALCHEMIST
Waiting for the miracle to come... Enjoy early morning walks around Lake Merritt, trying to unlock the mystery of painting, and becoming. Find me reading a book or watching a good movie on a big screen.
Before 100% focusing on my painting career, I worked as a free lance editorial illustrator. My last client was the NY Times Book Review in 2000, when I was commissioned a cover for a new translation of "Beowulf."
I graduated from the State Institute of Cinematography /VGIK, Moscow, Russia, with MA in fine art and animation in 1987. For my first job out of college, I was invited as a creative director of a 10 minute hand animated movie. It took a year to produce and it is still showing on TV in Russia. There is a link below for YouTube, the name is "From 9am to 6 pm"
