CHARMAINE KOH

Charmaine is a Singaporean artist and writer based in San Francisco. Her work explores how experiences of place and self in Singaporean contexts are mediated through postcolonial legacies, urban redevelopment, globalization, and online media. Her two most recent projects in this regard examine Singapore’s public housing estates and her personal relationship to nature, landscape, and language.

Her work has been shown in the US, Singapore, and Italy. She is currently completing her MFA in Fine Arts and MA in Visual & Critical Studies at California College of the Arts.
