ARMINÉE
For over 30 years, I have been dedicated to creating pieces that evolve through a particular life experience - one of being immersed in a natural environment, far from people. Abstraction joins representation to form surreal imagery; a reflection of the drama, fragility and beauty behind observations of a shifting environment. My process relies upon a certain spontaneity with materials, while imagery is built through intense layering. Patterns and rhythms of nature combine with those of music to inform my work. Visitors to my remote, mountain studio immediately grasp the inter-relatedness between my passions as an artist, stone worker, gardener, cook, and wine aficionado. My life has not one single dull moment.
